Open Source Analysis Project

The United States has entered a new and increasingly challenging geostrategic environment, at the heart of which is a rapidly escalating competition with the People’s Republic of China (PRC). A crucial component of an effective China strategy will be the exploitation of open source material to form more accurate and objective strategic assessments of Beijing’s ambitions, intentions, strengths, and weaknesses. To help meet this need, CSIS is launching the CSIS Open Source Analysis Project, an online, interactive digital platform that will utilize previously untranslated primary source material to drive in-depth discussions and debates on strategic topics relating to U.S.-China relations and the broader topic of China’s rise.

As we work toward a formal launch of the project website later this fall, over the next few months, we will begin publishing regular analytical features, which can be found below.
